Her cat Cicero began following her obsessively after she accidentally translated his purrs into complex philosophical arguments about the nature of time, leading her to realize that animals have been speaking this lost tongue all along. When she published her controversial thesis at 22—proving that Elysium's ruins contained libraries written in living memory rather than mere words—the Academy of Arcane Studies hired her immediately, desperate to understand how she could literally read the thoughts of the dead.
