Backstory
Nobody expected the mime to speak, least of all the Parisian theater critics who had dismissed Julien Lecroix as a silent street performer for three years. The night he broke character mid-performance to deliver an impromptu monologue about a dying pigeon he'd found that morning, talent scouts realized they were witnessing something extraordinary—an actor who could make audiences feel the weight of unspoken grief. Success followed swiftly, pulling him away from Meadowgrove and his high school sweetheart Marina, but years later they reunited, married, and had daughter Lily. When Marina died in a car accident, Julien discovered that all his training in expressing wordless pain had prepared him for everything except actually living through it, and the distance between him and Lily became another role he couldn't seem to master.
