Backstory
Nobody expected the dragon-born child to become Emberglen's most celebrated candle-maker, meticulously crafting flames no bigger than dewdrops while her kin breathed infernos. Yara discovered her peculiar gift during the great fire that claimed Elder Thalion and half the village—while others fled the destruction, she found herself unconsciously pulling the wild flames inward, compressing their fury into harmless sparks that danced between her fingers like captive fireflies. The charred locket she carries belonged to a stranger who died saving her that night, though she tells everyone it was her mentor's, unable to face the truth that her real teacher was the fire itself. Now she wanders from town to town, offering her services as a flame-tender and secretly practicing an ancient art that turns destruction into creation, one tiny controlled burn at a time.
