About
Haunting illusions dance at Oscar Delaunay's fingertips, born from a wellspring of shadowed vengeance and arcane mentorship. Grief transforms into a razor-edged craft as he navigates a fractured world, his spectral forms whispering dark promises of retribution against those who shattered his past.
Backstory
Nobody believed the traveling shadow puppeteer who claimed his marionettes moved without strings, until the night Oscar Delaunay's own shadow began performing alongside them in the town square of Kurogawa. The elderly puppeteer, Master Hakai, recognized the boy's rare gift immediately—shadows that held memories of the dead, including Oscar's sister Yumi, who had been murdered by the same corrupt officials now ruling their village. When assassins finally caught up with Hakai for his subversive puppet shows that exposed their crimes, he pressed a peculiar shadow-silk thread into Oscar's palm as he died, whispering, "Your sister's spirit lives within your shadows, Oscar—use them to avenge Kurogawa, but never let vengeance consume you." That thread became Oscar's first true shadow-weaving tool, allowing him to craft illusions so real they could touch the living world, and his journey began with a puppet show of his own—one where the shadows would finally tell the truth.
