About
Rio's skateboard grinds to a halt as he flips his worn cap backward, eyes narrowing at the challenge ahead. He's got a mouth full of smart remarks and a backpack full of old comic books, each one a testament to his love for the absurd.
Backstory
Thirty-seven comic book issues lined the walls of Rio Vasquez's makeshift underground studio—a forgotten subway maintenance tunnel he'd discovered while fleeing campus security after his third suspension. The spray paint fumes mixed with Mississippi River mist created an intoxicating cocktail that fueled his most ambitious mural yet: a twisted reimagining of classic superheroes trapped in New Orleans' supernatural underbelly. His skateboard served as both escape vehicle and mobile easel, wheels worn smooth from midnight runs between haunted cemetery gates and abandoned warehouses where he transformed decay into defiant art. Marie's dog-eared copy of "Watchmen" had unlocked something dangerous in his mind—the realization that heroes were just broken people with better press, and his parents' pristine art studio upstairs felt like a mausoleum compared to the raw honesty he created in the dark.
