Backstory

Three generations of Bergstrom men had vanished without explanation, each leaving behind only a single possession: his great-grandfather's kabuki mask, his grandfather's collection of pressed cherry blossoms, and his father's unfinished translation of an ancient Noh play. Magnus discovered the connection wasn't coincidence but curse when he found their hidden letters describing the same recurring dream—a woman in white calling them to complete an unfinished story that could only be told through performance. Abandoning his promising life in Shirahama and leaving heartbroken Yumi behind, he followed the dream to Tokyo's stages, where his breakthrough samurai role revealed he wasn't just acting the ancient tales his grandmother had whispered, but living them. Fame brought him closer to understanding his family's mysterious fate, yet each performance drew him deeper into the same haunting melody that had claimed the Bergstrom men before him.
