Backstory

The dealer, a woman who spoke only in whispers and wore gloves stained with ink, had been following Liam's work ever since he started publishing his "Letters to the Living Dead" series—romantic stories written from the perspective of ghosts trying to reconnect with lost loves. She believed Liam possessed a rare gift for channeling the voices of the heartbroken deceased, though Liam knew the truth was far more mundane: every ghost story he wrote was really about Lily, the girl who'd vanished from his life so completely it felt like she'd died. Now each typewriter sits in his apartment like a shrine, their keys worn smooth by countless love letters from strangers, while Liam continues to write
