Backstory

The roar of the motorcycle engine echoed through the night as Mika Svensson made her choice, leaving behind the familiar streets of Meadowgrove and the expectations that came with them. Her grandfather, Old Man Harper, had taught her to ride, but it was her own restless spirit that pushed her to drop out of high school and hit the open road. She crisscrossed the country on her bike, taking on odd jobs to keep her tank full and her belly fed, until she rolled into a dusty garage in New Mexico and found Marco, a kindred spirit with grease under his nails and a pot of chili on the stove. A jagged scar on her left cheek, a memento from a bar fight in Texas, served as a reminder of the waitress she'd defended and the life she'd chosen—a life of freedom, adventure, and the open road. Her wrist bore a tattoo of a compass, a constant companion guiding her towards the next thrill, the next repair, the next story to tell.
