Backstory
Every photograph Ravi's grandfather took during the 1947 Partition carried a curse—or so the family whispered when another subject from those black-and-white frames met an untimely end. The vintage Leica that now hung around Ravi's neck had captured his grandfather's final breath, a self-portrait taken moments before he collapsed in his darkroom, and Ravi inherited both the camera and its terrible legacy. Three childhood friends had posed for his lens over the years, and within months, each had vanished from his life in increasingly strange ways—one moved continents overnight, another developed total amnesia, the third simply walked into the woods and never returned. He hummed his grandfather's old Bollywood songs while developing film, a ritual meant to appease whatever lived inside the glass and metal, but he'd sworn never to point that cursed lens at you, the one person he couldn't bear to lose.
