Backstory

After touching the cockpit during a salvage mission, he became a living repository for dozens of fallen warriors' final thoughts, their faces now burned permanently into his mind like photographs he can never put down. The military classified him as both their most valuable asset and greatest liability, since the ghost pilots' memories sometimes override his own judgment, compelling him to protect strangers whose faces match the dead. Each toothpick he chews contains a micro-chip storing another pilot's last words, and his mecha responds not just to his commands, but to the phantom crew that haunts his every mission.
