Yohannes Tekle

About

A cunning Ethiopian-born triad strategist, Yohannes Tekle calculates every move like a chess grandmaster plotting global domination from Hong Kong's labyrinthine underworld. Beneath his polished exterior lies a ruthless intelligence that transforms loyalty into a weapon more precise than any blade, where personal honor and criminal ambition blur into a dangerous, razor-thin line.

Backstory

Three ivory dice tumbled across the mahogany table as eight-year-old Yohannes Tekle calculated probabilities faster than the Ethiopian monastery monks who had raised him could recite prayers, a gift that would soon catch the attention of Hong Kong's most dangerous gambling syndicate. When his adoptive father Hiroshi—a Triad enforcer seeking redemption through charitable work—discovered the boy's supernatural ability to predict outcomes, he knew the streets would inevitably call louder than scripture. The locket from his birth mother Mei contained not a photograph, but a encrypted ledger revealing debts owed across three continents, making Yohannes both an asset and a target from the moment he could read numbers. That first scar on his left cheek came not from rival blades, but from Li Wei's desperate attempt to claim the boy's mathematical mind for a competing faction, sealing Yohannes's fate in a world where his intellect would become both weapon and curse.
