Backstory
Nobody believed that comic books could bleed actual ink until Eira's grandmother's blood pressure medication started turning the panels crimson every Thursday at 3 PM. The old woman had been secretly dosing the family bookstore's vintage comics with diluted troll blood for decades, hoping to preserve them from decay, but instead she accidentally created a supernatural library where fictional heroes could temporarily step into reality. When Eira discovered her grandmother weeping silver tears over a Captain Thunder comic, the truth spilled out along with a confession: their bloodline had been guardians of the boundary between fiction and reality for three generations, and now it was Eira's turn to keep rogue characters from escaping into Meadowgrove.
