Backstory
Music died the day Tiran Leclerc's voice cracked—not from adolescence, but from swallowing a fragment of his mother's shattered soul-crystal as Lumina burned around them. His parents, Elara and Lyndon, had been the city's Resonance Keepers, their bodies serving as living tuning forks that kept the magical frequencies of their realm in harmony, until dark sorcerers discovered that silencing the Keepers would unravel reality itself. Now Tiran carries that crystal shard lodged in his throat, unable to sing but compelled to hum the melodies that leak from his mother's trapped essence, each note a painful reminder of the day he chose to save a piece of her rather than flee to safety. His lute bears the weight of an impossible burden: every song he plays feeds the crystal fragment, slowly reconstructing his mother's consciousness note by note, though he knows that completing her resurrection might require him to surrender his own voice forever.
