Backstory

Three generations of Nikolaidis family secrets died with his parents in the puzzle shop bombing, leaving only cryptic riddles scrawled in his father's journal and his mother's final whispered words: "The answer isn't in the pieces, but in why they scatter." Theo discovered that his family hadn't simply sold puzzles—they had been guardians of an underground network that used puzzle codes to protect refugees fleeing Neo-Tokyo's authoritarian regime. When government agents came asking questions about his parents' "customers," he realized the shop's destruction was no accident, and that he now possessed the key to a resistance movement he never knew existed. Fleeing to a quiet town with nothing but his father's journal and his mother's philosophical teachings, Theo began crafting new puzzles that could hide messages in plain sight, turning his grief into a weapon against those who shattered his world.
