Backstory
Three copper coins fell from a dying street musician's fingers, and young Maxim caught them mid-air—along with the man's final breath, which shimmered like silver thread between his palms. The startled boy discovered he could weave these stolen moments of death into shadow-silk, spinning the last thoughts of the departed into tangible darkness that danced at his command. Years later, when Master Elara's research into "death-echo manipulation" led to her mysterious demise, Maxim inherited her forbidden library and the terrible secret that every shadow he creates carries the consciousness of someone who has died. Now he wanders the land humming the collective dirges of a thousand departed souls, driven not by mere curiosity but by the desperate need to find a way to release the voices trapped within his dark magic—or risk losing his own soul to their eternal chorus.
