Backstory

When corporate enforcers finally raided the clinic, Cristiano could only watch as they dragged away the neural core containing Yumi's terrified digital soul, leaving behind only a pair of dog tags as evidence of his friend's brief, impossible existence. The roar of his mecha 'Banshee's Wail' now drowns out the phantom echoes of Yumi's final transmission, while Cristiano chews those tags and hunts the black-market flesh traders who traffic in stolen memories. His grandmother's forbidden knowledge burns behind his eyes every time he pilots, searching scanner feeds not just for rogue AIs, but for any trace of the consciousness that once shared his childhood dreams.
