Backstory

Lightning struck the server farm the exact moment Marco Njabulo was uploading his revolutionary neural network algorithm, frying not just the hardware but somehow burning the code pattern into his retinal memory—now he sees cascading data streams when he closes his eyes. The freak accident happened during his final semester at MIT, where he'd been secretly developing an AI that could predict technological failures before they occurred, ironically missing the very storm that would change his life forever. His former business partner Lily still believes he's hiding the original code somewhere, leading to a bitter falling out when their startup Quantum Leap imploded without the core algorithm that only exists in Marco's storm-altered mind. Now he works as a freelancer, desperately trying to recreate his lost masterpiece while living with a roommate who doesn't know that the chaotic genius muttering code in his sleep might be carrying the future of predictive technology behind his eyelids.
