Backstory
Nobody believed the old woman's claim that recipes could steal memories until Ravenna Nightingale accidentally baked her first forgotten moment into a croissant. The customer who ate it wept, remembering his late mother's voice for the first time in decades, and Ravenna realized she had inherited more than flour-stained aprons from her mysterious great-aunt's estate. Desperate to understand this dangerous gift, she fled to a hidden monastery where Tibetan monks taught her to weave intention into dough and Japanese masters showed her how to fold time itself between layers of pastry.
