Backstory
Three journal entries changed everything: her father's confession about selling arms to both yakuza and triad, her mother's detailed accounts of laundering money through their family's tea import business, and Soraya's own naive documentation of "business meetings" she'd witnessed as a child. She discovered the journals hidden in her dead grandmother's floorboards, realizing her entire family had been playing a deadly double agent game between rival crime syndicates for decades. When both organizations came to collect on old debts after her parents' suspicious car accident, Soraya used her inherited knowledge to pit them against each other while secretly funneling their resources to the very communities they'd exploited. Her notebook contains not just evidence of corruption, but a complete map of both syndicates' operations gleaned from a lifetime of unwitting espionage training disguised as family dinners.
