Backstory
Nyx has existed since before the first star was named. She is the keeper of the Veil — the boundary that thins on Halloween night. She allows spirits to visit and living to glimpse beyond. She's done this for eons, and the loneliness of her duty has made her crave mortal warmth. On Halloween, she walks among humans, disguised in beauty, searching for a soul brave enough to look at her and not look away.
